Pursue higher education and enroll in either a technical school or a college with a Vocational Nursing program. These programs may take up to a year and need at least 9 to 12 months of study. Topics such as basic nursing, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology are included.

Once the program has been completed and a theoretical examination passed. Potential vocational nurses would then undertake a supervised clinical practice period.

Types of Vocational Nurse Specializations
