Caring for furniture during moving

After choosing the perfect property, it is time to put the change into practice: box everything, mark the reel for the search for bigger furniture. But have you ever stopped to think that during this crash and back in time to search for furniture there may be a not very pleasant surprise when it comes to putting things in place?

So it is necessary to pay attention after finding movers in Dubai to how the objects are packed so that they do not appear broken or damaged after the move. Thinking about it, here are some precious tips for you not to get a headache when unpacking the boxes after a move.

Time of change! Where to start?

Fragile objects

To protect objects and furniture that may break more easily (such as glass and porcelain), you can wrap in several layers of newsprint or bubble wrap, thus preventing the object from suffering any damage. If you have smaller objects, pack them separately in a cardboard box. If there is space in the box, fill it with newspaper or paper to prevent the object from moving during the move.

Clothes, towels, and others

Clothes that crumple more easily you can choose to separate into suitcases, and larger pieces you can use the hanger to be easier to put in the closet. As for towels, comforters, blankets, you can use fabric bags, suitcases, and even boxes to transport them.

Appliances and electronics

Television, microwave, stove, and refrigerator need great care when transporting. The recommendation is that you use styrofoam sheets with adhesive tape to protect from impacts. To reinforce protection, you can (if available) use cardboard boxes to wrap them.

What is the best packaging?

To understand which packaging is best for transporting furniture during the move, you need to take into account each item you have and its type of material: whether it is more reinforced, more fragile, whether it is small or not. For this, there is an ideal packaging for each object. You will find several options, such as Styrofoam, cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, corrugated paper, and kraft paper. There is also the possibility of using blankets and blankets to reinforce the protection of your objects.

How to protect your floor from scratch

When it comes to renovating, it takes planning to bring down, build, and even to keep intact what will not be changed. Knowing how to protect the floor during a move can be a great challenge when the renovation of a room is only partial, since leaving the exposed tile guarantees scratches and stains (especially if the floor is made of wood or laminate).

Therefore, investing in a resistant material to protect the floor is the best choice to minimize future expenses (and works too). Speaking of “minimizing future expenses”, we took the opportunity to include suggestions on how to protect the floor on a daily basis from scratches caused by furniture feet. All of them are simple and practical to use, that is, only advantages!

How to protect the floor from furniture scratches and renovations

1 – Floor Save

The Salva floor is a product specially developed to solve the problem of how to protect the floor during the move. It is made of laminated kraft paper and bubble wrap, which makes it resistant to liquids and also to objects that could scratch the floor, such as wheelbarrows, for example. In addition, it is great for minimizing dirt and mess, since, at the end of the work, it can be easily removed, taking the refurbishment residues with it.

The Floor Saver is fixed and uniform, since the bubble wrap has good adhesion when in contact with the floor, and can also be used to protect baseboards – in this case, it is necessary to seal them by sticking the product with masking tape on the wall.

2 – Canvas or newspaper

In small renovations, canvas and newspaper can be used with ease, as for painting a wall, for example. However, they have some disadvantages when deciding how to protect the floor during a house move. This is because the canvas is in danger of tearing and the newspaper is small and needs to be amended to cover large areas. Neither alternative is resistant enough to face a reform, mainly due to the amendments that need to be made.

3 – Felt, cork, or rubber protectors on furniture feet (or casters)

There are several specific products on how to protect the floor from scratches of furniture feet. They can be found in various sizes and installed on tables, chairs, and sofas.

Felt, cork, or rubber protectors prevent furniture from scratching the floor when dragged accidentally. For furniture that is usually moved around the house, the ideal is to bet on silicone casters that, besides everything, facilitate the process of moving furniture.

4 – Carpets

Carpets can be a good trick on how to protect your floor from daily scratches. For this, the only requirement is that they are large enough to go a little under the furniture.

When buying a rug for the dining room that fulfills this function, for example, remember that it needs to be sized to remain under the chairs even when it is dragged away from the table.
