What Are The Scholarships Available After 10th Class?

An opportunity to avail a scholarship after class 10 is a boon for students. Such recognitions will boost their confidence and prepare them for the future. Scholarships help students to ease the financial burden on their parents. After completing 10th, students are more focused and aware of their career. Their decisions will affect their future choices. It is a crucial stage and getting the right scholarship will make things better. Some scholarships are based on academic marks, while there are some others like sports scholarships. There are scholarship schemes by the Central and State government and also by private institutions. Let us check out a few scholarship opportunities for students after completing their class 10.

Global Citizen Scholarship (GCS)

This is a regional scholarship offered by the Global Indian International School (GIIS) under its Global School Foundation (GSF) initiative. GIIS is globally renowned for its education standards. GCS is a two-year-long scholarship for the students of class 11 and 12. It gives a waiver on the tuition fees as well as hostel fees. The students must belong to either of the two categories to get this scholarship.

  • Category A– The student should have secured 94% or above in CBSE, ICSE or State Board or A* in all the nine subjects. The selected students get a 100% scholarship on tuition fees and hostel fees. 
  • Category B- Students selected for this scholarship get a 75% discount on tuition fees and hostel fees. They must get 93% to 94% in CBSE, ICSE, or State board or A* in eight subjects to secure the seats.

This scholarship is for the meritorious students and the seats are limited. Students are selected based on ‘first come first serve’ basis.

Vidhyandhan Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by Sarojini Damodaran Scholarship for students who have passed in class 10 exams. They are selected through a test followed by an interview. This scholarship program is for the economically backward students with less than 2 lakh annual income but have the potential within them. 

Students interested in this scholarship must get 90% in their class 10 SSC examination and disabled students should get 75%. It is important that the students complete their Class 10 from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Pondicherry, Gujarat, or Maharashtra. The amount of scholarship varies depending on the duration of the course. It is a good opportunity for the students to make a bright future for themselves.

Shriram Transport Finance Company India Meritorious Scholarship

Students who have completed their class 10 can apply for the STFC Meritorious Scholarship. The selected students get financial support of up to Rs. 35,000. The students must secure at least 60% in their class 10 exams. One of the important criteria for this scholarship is that the financial income of the applicant’s family must be Rs. 4 lakh per annum. The application form is available online and offline and along with it, they need to submit the required documents.

Jio Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by Reliance Group to 2800 students of the economically weaker section and students of categories like SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and General. The eligibility for the students is that they must secure 75% and above in state board or 80% and above in CBSE or ICSE board. The application form is available online as well as offline. Students who have completed their 10th get a scholarship of Rs. 35,000 per annum. The scholarship is also available for 11th, 12th, and other PG students.
