If you’re like most people, you can’t live without your smartphone. People spend an average of 5.4 hours per day on their phones, with social media taking up the bulk of people’s time.

So when it comes time to upgrade your phone, you want the best.

We’re here to help! And we’ll even show you how you can upgrade without breaking the bank. Keep reading to learn about four of our favorite cheap phones in 2020.

1.Alcatel 1X

Alcatel doesn’t have the name brand prestige of Motorola or Samsung. But what it does have is a surprising amount of power for the price.

An 8MP camera, a 1.3Ghz quad-core CPU, and a sharp 18:9 display give this camera a serious edge over its budget competitors.

The 1X retails for around $199 on Amazon for an unlocked, 16GB model. And if that isn’t enough storage space for you, don’t worry, the 1X features expandable MicroSD capability for up to 32GB.

As for its operating system, the 1X uses the Go Edition of Android Oreo. So while it won’t be as fast or capable as most high-end phones, you’ll still have access to Google’s marketplaces.

2.Motorola Moto G7

Be honest, how many times have you had to replace your phone?

If you can’t seem to keep a phone around for more than a few months at a time, you’ll need something heavy-duty. Something like the Motorola Moto G7.

Motorola has always made some of the most durable phones on the market, dating back to its impressive flip phones. We’re happy to say that the G7 continues that tradition.

The G7 is even water repellant, so you can stop worrying about your phone taking any more accidental dips

3. iPhone 8

Apple and ‘affordable’ don’t necessarily belong in the same sentence. But if you absolutely must have an iPhone, now is the right time to invest in one of Apple’s older models.

Since the tech giant announced that its latest additions to the iPhone family, the 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max, stores are slashing prices to get rid of previous iterations.

By all accounts, the iPhone 8 is more than enough phone for your needs. And though it might be a little bit more expensive than the other phones on this list, there are plenty of ways to get a personal loan with a cosigner, which will allow you to pay in installments. 4. Google Pixel 3a

Though the Pixel 3a is more affordable than an iPhone, the $400 might be enough to put some people off. But if you have the extra cash, the Pixel 3a is worth it.

For starters, it takes just 15 minutes to charge, with an average battery lifespan of around seven hours. As for power? The Octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 Processor should be more than capable of tackling whatever apps you throw at your phone.

It’s fast, it’s sleek, and for a top of the line smartphone, it’s reasonably priced.
